Milling
Although primarily a production CNC milling facility, Western Widgets provides prototype milling to serve our customers’ R and D requirements.
While we prefer to work from electronic files, we are also able to program from your drawings, utilizing Geopath and Mastercam software. Drawings can be sent electronically or via fax.
Turning
WW also provides turning services as part of our commitment to being a full service shop.
Since we are primarily a milling facility, we generally have more time available on our lathes each month allowing for quick turn-around times on turned parts.
Finishes
As a full service shop, WW is able to meet just about any finishing requirements you may have. In-house services include tumbling and ultrasonic cleaning.
Unless requested otherwise, all parts are tumbled in our rotating 4-foot diameter Torex tumbler.
The rotating action of our tumbler, as opposed to a “tumbling” action assures that your parts are protected from damage while receiving a uniform, consistent finish.
Out-side finishes include, but are not limited to, black and colored anodizing, alodining, passivation, heatreating, gold and silver plating, painting, and bead-blasting.
Two additional services that more and more customers are requesting are laser engraving and chem-cleaning.
With laser engraving we can permanently mark your parts with part numbers, rev. levels, serial numbers, and logos.
Chem-cleaning can be done on bare or plated parts and to your specs. Chem-cleaning ranges from simple degreasing to cleaning to clean room standards.
Parts are delivered ready for clean room assembly, thereby saving you valuable out-sourcing time and expense. If you don’t see your required finish listed above, just ask; we probably can provide it.
